Chinese Elms are one of the easiest tree species to maintain as bonsai. With naturally tiny leaves and vigorous growth, they are an excellent subject for bonsai for both beginners and more advanced enthusiasts alike. Suitable for growing outdoors all year round or inside in a well-lit position.

Maintenance: Check the soil daily to see if watering is necessary. If the soil has begun to dry out (it will slowly turn a lighter colour) pour tap water onto the surface of the soil until excess water runs out of the drainage holes in the base of the pot. Trim new growth to shape with scissors.
