The Plitvice Lakes National Park lies in Croatia near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The National Park consists of 16 seperate lakes that channel water from high in the Plitvice mountains and in total, cover an area of around 2 square km. The Park is now a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
