June 2004. The tree has been allowed to recover for a couple of years. Some occasional pinching and pruning helped increase the density of the foliage.

The deadwood has also had some minor carving to reduce the size of the 'jins'.

June 2009: 3 years later and the bonsai has developed well. The foliage is thinned quite hard annually to maintain the light crown while the lower cascading branch pads have strengthened and developed well.

The height of the tree is now 5" or 12.5cm above the pot.
